Fractalist. Fractophile. Apoholic. Whether you are a fractal n00b or a veteran, I'm looking for you! Yes, that's right. Everyone is invited to participate.
Inspired by the efforts of Gurly and Project-4, I want to piece together a polyptych wallpaper (composed of small, individual fractal pieces, like this example clairejones.deviantart.com/art… ). Many of you in the fractal community are aware that both of the collaborative efforts mentioned above are currently in a state of limbo.
This is not a contest. There is no winner or prize given away, less the finished wallpaper. This is a community collaboration for everyone to join together and make one unique wallpaper from many images, while having a little fun. I do plan on offering a special stamp you can use in journals once you've made your first submission (yet to be uploaded), something along the lines of "I participated in the Community Wallpaper Project".
Please spread the word! Let's make this effort a success.
~Claire

FAQ
Does it have to be a fractal?
Yes. Any fractal generating application may be used, such as Apophysis, Ultra Fractal, XenoDream, Mind Boggling Fractals, Fractint, Fractal Forge, Agony, Fractal Explorer, Tierazon, ChaosPro, Chaoscope, SterlingWare etc. Also allowed are layered fractals, but do keep in mind that such detail will be lost on a small image. Post-editing is fine.
What colours are preferred?
The more colours, the better!
How many submissions am I allowed?
Currently, there is no limit, so start sending them to me. Although, please be reasonable. Fifteen is probably overkill.
Will you use all of my submissions?
In the case of excess submissions, not all pieces from a deviant will be used. However, I will make sure that every deviant who participates in this project will be represented in the final design.
Is it fine to add borders or text to my submission?
Do not add additional elements like borders or text. Just the plain fractal is perfect.
Will I get credit for my participation?
All deviants who participate will be displayed in the deviation description.

GIMP Script-Fu Updates
Fueled by no sleep and too much caffeine, I finally got around to checking my GIMP Script-Fu "actions". I've received many messages over the years that they no longer work.
The good news is that I cannot find anything wrong with them. The Script-Fu scripts are still compatible with the latest version of GIMP—that is 2.8.10 at the time of this writing. The bad news is that it took me like five years to get around to checking out the problem, LOL  And here I was thinking that I'd have to relearn the scripting language.
One of the problems could be that the directory path for the scripts in version 2.4 was Program Files/GIMP-2.4/sh
News and Stuff...
Figured I should update my journal. I've wanted to upload some of the pieces from 2013's calendar, but I haven't been able to get much rendering done. I've been waylaid by illness and post-holiday fatique (I ended up making ten knitted snowman ornaments for family, a crocheted fish bag for my niece, a knitted infant dress for my other niece, a crocheted lunch bag for my nephew, and a whole bunch of crocheted household items for a family white elephant gift exchange--all in the three weeks prior to Christmas; planning is not my strong area).
Mostly I'm writing to let you know about my new Facebook page. I'll admit that I don't usually spend m
Daily Deviation
Today I received a Daily Deviation for Branched! This is a special DD, because it's an important piece to me, the fractal artist. Branched is a fractal over two years in the makIng. I'm glad my obsessiveness paid off!
I want to thank SuicideBySafetyPin (https://www.deviantart.com/suicidebysafetypin) for selecting/featuring my work, and also for nudging me to post again on dA. Not that there was any drama about coming back, but as I explained in my last journal, life got in the way. Also, losing much of my rendered work left me devastated and reluctant to render again. I don't know what I would have done if I had lost all my parameters.

Even longer time no update...
It's definitely been awhile.
(Why does dA look different every time I stop by? Wow, the New Journal Entry page is completely different now.)
I was contacted by SuicideBySafetyPin (https://www.deviantart.com/suicidebysafetypin) through Facebook that I had been featured on Inspiration Station. I was very surprised and touched by the response. (Though, wow, some of you pulled out some really old stuff, lol). I wanted to thank all of you who posted a journal entry about my work, as well as those who continue to use my guides and fave my work. :glomp: I sort of needed it with all the stuff going on right now.
