For every render that did not look like what the preview suggested...
For every time I thought, "Maybe this flame will look good with a hot pink/fuschia/orange gradient..."
For every time I said, "I'm sure the flame will look better when I render it. Sure..."
For every time I decided, "Oh, what the heck. It's only 15 minutes of my life..."
There is The Wall of Shame
EDIT 6/5/07: New border and text
I think that this is the most fun I have had on an arts project. I always knew keeping my dud renders would be useful one day.
The Duds Project was borne out of a creative dry spell and contains 150 of my dud renders. As a rule, I do not trash most renders. The scary truth is that The Wall of Shame could have been twice this size. After I had rearranged the layout twice, I found even more hideous renders. But the original PNG was almost 60 MB, so I decided that 150 would be the final number.
Oddly, I have a strong attachment to many of these duds. The bottom right image is the first Apophysis image I ever rendered. That flame almost made quit Apophysis for good because I didn't understand anything about the Transform Editor.
Haha, great idea. The sad part for me is that your wall of shame is better than a lot of my own postings! Though I think I have that lower right corner beat anyway
Thanks! I had originally intended to spell out something like "crap" or "sux" within the images, but I didn't have enough of one type of fractal to do so. That's when I went back to my original idea of going through the rainbow. Took a few days to get it in the right order, though. It's hard to do with so many images.

You better watch who you're calling a child, Lois, because if I'm a child you know what that makes you? A pedophile, and I'll be damned if I'm going to stand here and be lectured by a pervert.
Across the globe, 27 million men, women, and children live in some form of slavery. That is more people at this moment than in all the centuries of the Atlantic Slave Trade. Something must be done. This contest serves two purposes: Raising awareness about human trafficking and raising funds for the Not For Sale organization.
Open to all mediums. Deadline is March 10, 2010 @ 11:59pm PST.
