Spiral Graveyard by ClaireJones Spiral Graveyard by ClaireJones
Where spirals go after they have passed from our world...

Apophysis 2.03b and The GIMP | Entry for Weekly Theme Event #12 by *Apophysis.

After hours upon hours of searching and rendering (six total for this specific one), I remembered that I don't have a shot for the Weekly Theme Event and went with the one I liked.

Originally, I wanted to go with something vibrant, but as I began to develop the idea of a graveyard for spirals, I decided that something more subtle would be better.

Please full view for the detail as the file is rather large in size.

:clap :clap: :w00t!: :clap: :clap:

Intensely, densely, blindingly busy.
You couldn't fit much more in this.
Love the millefiori ref.

Breathless was my first thought and reaction.

Fantasy angel fish was my second.

Stupendously awesome!

I think this is my all-time favorite Apophysis render. Not sure how I did it, but it came out well. :confused: Probably took a long time to render, too, but I can't remember the details for each deviation any more. ^^;

Hmm, to the last part, really? :laughing:

It's superb. Worth it, however long it took, there is just so much detail & depth here.

Thanks again. :aww: It's actually a close up of this one: Millefior Wallpaper [link] and Millefiori [link] is a morphed version.

Thanks so much for the :+fav:! This is one of my babies that I love (definitely can't say that for most of my work).

Wonderful concept and render - I love how the spirals seem to be embedded in skeins, like fly corpses in a spiderweb :)

Thanks. :aww:

I'm relieved this idea of a graveyard for spirals has been accepted so well. ^^;

Niiiiice, it certainly does look like a graveyard, all those lost spiral souls floating around....

Thanks. I was kind of afraid people might think I was weird for coming up with such an idea, but the idea seems to have gone over pretty well.

Thanks. I'm quite pleased with the way this one turned out. It's actually part of that Millefiori Wallpaper that you liked so much just with a different gradient and a little bit north of the central spiral.

There was another version a bit more to the right that has more color to it that I will probably upload untouched as a wallpaper as this one had some color balancing to bring out the red. If I had thought about color balancing it in GIMP I would saved myself some ten hours of gradient searching. :XD:
