Suggester's words: "For six long months I struggled to learn how to use Apophysis on my own till I discovered Julia Uncovered v.2.2 by `ClaireJones. Not only did it teach me to how to use the program, but it also inspired me to write my own series of tutorials. This tutorial is expansive, exceeding fifty pages, and lovingly made. Claire Jones went beyond what was needed and explained her methodology, and spent some serious time and thought putting this tutorial together. It’s absolutely lovely, and useful. It’s useful enough that the tutorial has had a permanent place on my computers for the past four years. Whenever I'm uninspired I return to this tutorial."

It's the first in a series of Fractal Resource Fridays!

4/27/07: Julia Uncovered v.2.1 is officially updated to Julia Uncovered v.2.2
I have clarified the Linear 0 steps to avoid confusion.

The inevitable update of the original Julia Uncovered.

Includes:
  • Julia Uncovered v.2.2 guide, 55 pp
  • FLAME parameter set of 8 Julians [link]
  • JPEG printable 8.5x11 in. cover image
  • HTML readme

New & Expanded Sections:
  • Nearly double the information of the original Julia Uncovered guide
  • Two additional Julian variations and a new example for the original technique
  • Over eighty (80) full color examples and diagrams (to better kill your inkjet printer--unless you have access to a color laserjet)
  • Updated screenshots to reflect the new look of Apophysis 2.05b2
  • Expanded chapter on Julian formation basics and terminology
  • Center Options chapter demonstrates how to use other variations than Blur for Transform 1
  • An additional section illustrates how to restore a Grand Julian created in Apphysis 2.04b to the updated Julian variation
  • Many tips on rendering and gradient manipulation
  • A mini-glossary of commonly used Apophysis and Julian terms
  • Eight starter flames in the accompanying FLAME parameter file
  • ...did I mention more images?

Less Important Changes:
  • Somewhat better page layout and definitely improved title page
  • A printable, full black 8.5x11 in. JPEG cover image (I hate inkjets)
  • A longer Table of Contents page
  • Prettier text font. Seriously. I'm totally hooked on this Perpetua font
  • Much nicer and more easily navigable HTML readme than the original TXT file (not that anyone seems to reads it)

So I had a lot of fun going through this guide. I came up with the following fractal thanks to what I learned in your guide! geckobird.deviantart.com/art/E…
